A Matter Of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falling

Have you turned down a chance to go out with family and friends or have you quit doing a favorite activity because you were afraid of falling?

Many older adults experience a fear of falling and often restrict their activities, which can lead to physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater.

A MATTER OF BALANCE is an award-winning program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults.

Classes Help Participants Learn To:

  • view falls and fear of falling as controllable
  • set realistic goals for increasing activity
  • change their environment to reduce fall risks at home exercise to increase strength and balance

MOB is a FREE program for people 60 years of age and older. Classes meet one day a week for 8 weeks and participants are encouraged to attend all 8 classes.
